Dryer Vent Cleaning

Dryers are an important part of our household chores, but are the vents they use to exhaust clean?

Cleaning your dryer vent can alleviate restricted airflow from lint build-up and other air constriction helping your dryer run at optimal efficiency.

According to a study by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission in 1996, there were an estimated 15,500 fires associated with clothes dryers, 20 deaths, 320 injuries and about $84.4 million in property loss reported for residential structures.

Out of the 79 reports that were described as fire incidents, the duct or ventilation system was reported as the most frequent location for fires to start and the lint trap of the household dryer was noted as the second most frequently reported fire origination point.

Failure to maintain a clear exhaust system can also create problems for other dryer components like the motor, electrical system, and the thermostat.
